SUMMARY:
1. REVIEW AND APPROVAL OF MINUTES OF PREVIOUS MEETING

2. REVIEW OF WORK PROGRESS SINCE LAST MEETING
Demo exiting bridge
Upstream berm/cofferdam re-design and installation
Excavate, Grade, geotextile, geogrid and Stone for Box Culvert
By-pass pumping of stream continues
3. REVIEW OF WORK PLANNED BEFORE NEXT MEETING
Finish -Excavate, Grade, geotextile, geogrid and Stone for Box Culvert
Set up Crane
Set Box Culvert bottom slabs and U-Box sections

4. SCHEDULE OF WORK STATUS
Deliver of Pre-cast Box Culvert pieces begins Friday, October 14th.
At this time contractor about 2 weeks behind schedule, plans to work
Saturdays and mobilize additional forces.
At this time schedule still shows opening roadway on October 23, but
could change with any issues that could arise.

6. ENVIRONMENTAL ISSUES
Contractor submittecd plan for cofferdam redesign/additional berm for
water maintenance due to recent floods/cofferdam being breached and
it was approved. They are looking into the installion of the outlet pipe
that has not been completed yet.
Contractor submitted plan to engineer and MEDOT Environmental
(Ryan Annis) regarding possible in-water work extension and it has
been approved. A 10 day extension was granted with a new end date of
October 25th, 2011.
7. TRAFFIC ISSUES
Discussion was had regarding the Marathon- Marathon Director seems
ok with running on gravel berm as long as it is as flat and firm as
possible and without any major turns/angles through the jobsite. This
engineer will be on site that day should issues arise, contractor asked at
meeting if they plan to have a representative on site, they believe they
will have someone on site that day.

9. CONTRACT MODIFICATIONS AND INVOICE ISSUES
Contract Modification was approved for changing contract dates per the
town of Mt Desert revision with some possible additional costs..
10. PROBLEMS, CONFLICTS, AND PROBLEM RESOLUTIONS
The Town of Mt Desert asked if there are pre-construction photo’s of
their town parking lot at the beach being used as a storage/staging area.
MDOT has them and they will be forwarded by the resident engineer to
the town.
BHE has agreed to a temporary power shutdown for the contractor to set
the upstream portion of the box culvert, it is tentatively scheduled for
Wednesday October 19th. Town Waste Water Superintendent said he
needs to be notified so that he can have generators for his pumping
stations. Contractor will notify as soon as date and time confirmed.
11. MATERIAL ISSUES
Contractor opted to use Triaxle Geogrid.
12. SUBCONTRACTOR ISSUES
None to Note
13. ENGINEERING QUESTIONS AND ISSUES
None to note.
14. Project Safety
The site specific safety plan is in place; the contractor has weekly safety
meetings to review project specific safety issues and concerns.
15. REVIEW OF FUTURE ACTION ITEMS – LOOSE ENDS
None
Any authorized persons who take exception to any statement in these minutes must notify the Resident in
writing within seven days from receipt of the minutes, stating in detail the comment, correction or omission.
Otherwise, these minutes shall stand as written.
